Colour Combo Challenge x

Hey guys, we're doing a colour combo challenge over at Flat Friends this month - I've been so nervous about this one as I'm finally joining the real world of colouring by hand instead of on my PC. It was my birthday this month so my family and friends gave me money so I could start my Copic collection :-) It's been a week of colouring and I'm already addicted - I can't believe how much I'm enjoying it!!

I have to say, mind you, that it has been a nerve wracking process getting this first colouring card out of the way - every time I would finish a section I was happy with I had to take a ten minute break to calm my nerves before starting the next bit as I was certain I was going to mess it up and have to start from scratch each time :-) This final copy took some getting to and I was a bag of nerves when I was cutting my digi out - it was like that feeling you get when you're by the edge of a cliff and start panicking you might accidentally jump off - I kept thinking I was going to cut an arm off or something! :-D

I look forward to continuing with this new hobby - I've had so many tips and guidance from lovely friends on the web and just had to mention 1 lady in particular as I'm pretty sure I've worn her Youtube videos out this week - her name is Alyce Keegan and you can find her tutorials HERE. I've found these tutorials hugely helpful - I had no idea what I was doing this time last week and now I feel like I'm on my way :-D

Hope you all have a lovely December - I'm off to get my Christmas decorations up and listen to some cheesy Christmas tunes :-) Lots of love, Em xxx

Christmas Card Challenge x

Hiya guys, anyone who knows me knows I LOVE Christmas so I was really excited to do a Christmas challenge this time round. I've had a lovely week - cozy nights in by the fire, drawing Christmas digi's and making my Christmas card - bliss :-D

This card was really simple to make - I started by sticking down the Christmas tree and simply added my digi and window with foam pads to give the card a bit of a 3D effect.

I hope you'll pop by and join us on our challenge HERE - we've updated the rules so you don't have to us a Flat Friends digi to enter anymore which we're hoping will make it easier for people to play along. If however, the winning card (which is chosen using the Random Number Generator) does feature one of our digi's the winner will receive a 50% discount in my Esty store for 1 month on top of their 4 free digi's.

Have a lovely weekend, Em xx

Photo Inspiration Challenge x

Hiya, this is my card for our challenge blog x It's our first time using a photo for inspiration and I must admit I really enjoyed this theme. My card has a very basic design (as mine often do) but I'm happy with it and it was a super cheap one to make lol :-)

I simply printed my digi out onto white card, folded it into a card shape using my scoring board, and cut the front back on the right hand side to highlight Paige's pom pom and give a peek at the stripes below. I had originally intended to add some red embellishments to my card too but decided, in the end, to quit whilst I was ahead :-)

I’ve put the inspiration pic, card, and links to the products used below – hope you’ll come and join us this month, Em x x

Sketch Challenge Card x

Hiya, this is my card for our challenge blog x It's a sketch challenge again this month and I was really excited to have another go at this theme as I enjoyed it so much last time. I had just as much fun with this one and found the card came together very quickly due to the simplicity of the sketch which was a nice change as it normally takes me ages to scramble something together :-D

I’ve put the sketch, card, and links to the products used below – hope you’ll come and join us this month, Em x x

Colour Combo Challenge Card x

Hiya, thanks so much for popping by – I can’t believe it’s been a month since my last post – I’ve been so busy it feels like yesterday that I was on here! :-)

Our challenge over at Flatfriends this month was to make a card using a combination of 3 colours (pink, black, and grey). It was my first time having a go at a colour combo card and hopefully not my last as I really enjoyed this theme. I’ve put links below to all of the supplies I used – basically I decorated my pink card using the Martha Stewart Doily Lace edge punch, and placed some black card on top of that. I cut the 'congrats' (which was supposed to be congratulations but I ran out of space lol) with the Tim Holtz Decorative Strip Alphabet die and finished the card off by mounting the ‘Graduation Celebration’ digi using some foam pads to give it a bit of a 3D feel.

Hope you’ll join us for the challenge this month x x

Cute as a Button Challenge Card x

Hiya, here's my card for this month's challenge over on our blog - sorry it's so simple - I honestly didn't mean for it to be so basic when I set out it just happened that way lol x As ya'll know though I do like a simple design (partly down to personal preference and partly down to my limited card making skills) :-D

I'll make an effort next month to use more elements/papers - this is a cheapo one to make though hey which is always a plus :-) x x

Back from our hols x x

Hiya, we're back from our hols and I have been feeling a little low this week as the holiday was soooo amazing we didn't want to come home! :-) Matt (the hubster) and I spent the 1st week together in Ostuni - the white walled city in Puglia (right down South in Italy by the heal) and then met up with my family who were renting a gorgeous villa for the week in Locorotondo.

The first week is a bit of a happy blur - lots of drinking, dancing, and making new Italian friends :-D The second week is ever so slightly less blurry and gave us the luxury of quality family time. Living so far from home means our meet ups are normally pretty rushed so it was nice to have some down time and just chill together - lots of gorgeous vino and food enjoyed - very happy times :-) So we had the perfect mixture of party city life and chilled family life - can't think of a better holiday combo really! x x

We've always loved Italy and think we've found the perfect area now so will be heading back there again and again over the years no doubt. The people were so friendly, the food absolutely gorgeous, and the scenery to die for. Gosh I haven't even mentioned the weather yet which was already absolutely amazing in June - we finally managed to get some colour on our bones :-)

I've put our holiday pics below as promised, Em x x

In the airport on way out - coat on - tan yet to kick in :-)
