Our French Hols :-D xx

Hiya, I promised I would share some pics from our hols this month - we had the most amazing time and were sad to come home at the end of the break! We traveled over from London on the Eurostar to Paris for 3 nights first - Paris was amazing - we took a boat trip on the river seine on the 1st day to see all of the tourist highlights and then spent the rest of the time enjoying the fine wines and food that the city had to offer - a lot of happy, albeit blurry, memories :-)

From Paris we headed on over to Disneyland which was a little bit of childhood heaven for me - Mr Canning had been a bit reluctant about going at 1st but absolutely loved it to bits once we were there. I managed to drag him on the scary rides which he admitted he enjoyed once they were done with, and we were both gobsmacked by the 'Disney Dreams' light show at the end of the day - half an hour of fireworks accompanied by dancing water and animations which were projected onto the Disney castle.

Next on the agenda was a long weekend in Lyon with a couple of our lovely French friends - Lyon was absolutely beautiful and we were lucky enough to have our own local tour guides offering an insight into the city that we would never have seen on our own. We were absolutely spoiled to bits by our friends and genuinely couldn't have wished for a better stay!! :-D I've put a few pics from all parts of the holiday below for you to have a look. Lovely going through them properly for the first time since we got back - such wonderful memories :-) xx

Cards 4 Men Challenge x

Hiya, thanks for popping by x We've got a new challenge over at Flat Friends this month HERE and it's all about the boys/men this time round. I don't stumble upon that many handmade male cards when I'm looking on the internet so thought this one might be a fun one to do.

As always, my card is very simple - the digi is coloured with copics and I just added a couple of boy-friendly papers to the inside to add a bit of extra colour.

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with this month - would be good to see a few more cards for boys and men out and about :-D xx

More Than 1 Fold Challenge x

Hiya, we've got a new challenge over at Flat Friends today and I really enjoyed this one - I normally make very basic shaped cards so this challenge gave me the push I needed to try something a little more complex :-) I found a really cool tutorial on YouTube which can be found HERE for making a box design – I thought it was a cute idea for a valentine's card as you can put a love voucher in or something :-D

I decided to go with one of my new valentine’s digi’s called ‘Love is in the Air’, coloured her with copics, and glued her onto the inside of the box (leaving the balloon string unstuck to give a little bit of a 3 effect inside). On the outside of the box I used a couple of My Mind’s Eye papers (the ‘love’ text paper is from the 6x6 ‘Love Me’ pad and the greyish/brown paper is from the ‘Darling Dear’ 6x6 pad). I made a sleeve to hold the box card closed and added a little heart using my Heart Tonic Studio’s Paper punch. That’s about it – I hope you’ll play along with us this month – can’t wait to see all of the cool designs everyone comes up with for this one :-D xxx

Anything Goes Challenge x

Hiya, thanks for popping by to my site xx I hope you've all had an amazing Christmas break and that you had a lovely evening last night to see in the New Year :-). Mr Canning and I have been back down south for the last week visiting friends and family and we had an absolutely amazing time. We were fortunate enough to get to spend quality time with everyone and enjoyed lots of lovely food and drink :-D

An added bonus to the week was meeting our little pig Doris who lives on one of our best friends farms in Devon - she's a cutie!! I've put a picture of her below for you to see :-)

Okay, onto challenge news - we've got an anything goes challenge this month over at Flatfriends and, as it's my Mummy Canning's birthday this week, I thought I'd make a card for her. We've got very similar tastes and she loves simple cards so I've gone for a CAS design. I used my 'Birthday Wishes' digi, coloured her with Copics, and mounted the image with foam pads. To finish off the design I punched along the side of the card with my Martha Stewart 'Daisy' edge punch to add a bit of decoration. That's about it - nice and simple :-) I hope you'll play along with us this month - we're really looking forward to seeing all of the different designs on this challenge :-D xxx
