Hiya, this is my card for our
challenge blog x The theme this month is stitching (real of faux) which I was
really excited about as I’ve wanted to give card stitching a go for a while :-) I
think I found this card the hardest yet – not the stitching – I’m just finding
it really tricky choosing papers for the designs. I’ve got a stack of beautiful
My Mind’s Eye paper pads and I love them soooo much but when it comes to
actually making a card and choosing papers to go together I struggle – I
already had huge respect for card makers already but that respect has grown
even more since I started having a go myself - I didn’t realise how very
difficult it would be!! :-)
Anyway, onto the details - I
decided to go with the ‘Foxy Friend’ digi and to avoid patterned paper altogether
and just go with colours that fitted nicely to be on the safe side. I used the
‘Hey Buddy’ stamp from the ‘Simply Said’ stamp set by Paper Smooches with the
Antique Linen Ink Pad by Tim Holtz as I thought the ink matched quite nicely
with the rest of the card. To make the holes for the stitching I used the ‘Sew
Easy Stitch Piercer’ (which I must admit is Sew Easy to use) and matched some
embroidery threads as well as I could from my craft cupboard. I can’t decide if
I like this card or not – it seems to be less about how much I like the card
now and whether I dislike it enough to start again from scratch lol :-) I’ll get
there though I’m sure – every day’s a learning day :-D
